On the evening of October 3rd, the Olivette community joined together for our fall farm to table dinner to benefit for the NC Climate Solutions Coalition, a cause that is very dear to our hearts. The weather was sweet and the company was even sweeter. Our farmer, Joe Evans, grows a beautiful variety of vegetables, microgreens, and flowers that were showcased throughout the event. Without his green thumb and dedication, this event wouldn’t have been possible.
Tina, of Tina and Her Pony, an indie-Appalachian folk band, played sweet tunes the entire event and contributed to the atmosphere immensely.
Guests enjoyed specialty craft cocktails of fresh juice and unique garnishes from Cordial and Craft. For those who preferred a nonalcoholic alternative, Shanti Elixers provided a delicious sampling of jun, a probiotic elixir brewed with raw honey and green tea, handcrafted in small batches.
With bread provided by Walnut Schoolhouse, a dinner of culinary excellence was prepared by Over Easy Café executive chef Eric Burleson, a huge supporter of Olivette who regularly uses Olivette Farm produce to create delicious and experimental menus. Fifty/50, the Art of Dessert provided a trio of fall- inspired sweets for the dessert course. Nothing like some fall-flavored sweetness to end the night! Together, our community enjoyed a wonderful evening to remember. Olivette is thankful for the individuals, restaurants, and companies that support the concepts of farm to table and sustainability in everyday life!
